When should you use a robotic Pick & Place packaging system vs. other technologies?

Specifically, robotic Pick & Place packaging systems are able to hold the containers firmly in place while moving them for grouping or packaging, while packaging machines based on other technologies accumulate the containers on the conveyor and move them by means of lateral pushes. For containers with protruding rims or tapered shapes, which are very light or unstable such as not to allow them to be accumulated or pushed sideways, then robotic Pick & Place packaging machines become the preferred system.
